This implies that the suitable helper is not just a woman of fasting and prayer, but she is also a woman of action; performs duties to the best of her knowledge and capability, can be depended on to do things. She is an achiever and does not sit back to watch how the situation around her is going to change, but participates and does things to help change her situation. This suitable helper is not lazy and idle and does not think and do things like a beggar ‘’munandikwatiriranji? mundidyetsa, ndi kundiveka’’or ‘’kwathu munandipeza ndikudya ndi kuvala’’ .

O, the power of positive hope! How do you develop your Hope in God? By putting your hope in God’s word. Esther did not allow anything to separate her from the knowledge that she had of her God. Despite her circumstances, she still had God as her number one hope. This is why when the decree to kill the Jews came in, she told Mordecai that she was going to help the Jews, and activated her hope in God by the instrument of fasting.

I just love my fellow women. I love to talk, shop, laugh and pray with them. Sometimes, I cry with them too. I have many friends for whom the subject of ‘daddy’ is a painful one.

I don’t know about you but I am seemingly captivated by the media and the way their headlines ensure we get hooked to the news behind it. They are so good at eye-catching headlines. You find yourself stopping in your tracks to gaze at the source, whether it is electronic (television) or print media.

Today we look at Haman, the man who is so very self-destructive, it is unreal. He never considered principle when seeking recognition, made his way to the top and became the king’s favourite confidant. This was a man who hated Jews with a passion and desired to be exalted higher than others. Such was his influence upon the king that the latter commanded all his servants to bow in reverence Haman.
