On International Children’s Day this year, youths in Malawi expressed worry through the media that most of them are unemployed. The general mindset with most employers is that the youth are childish when given a job opportunity.

Stop minibus touting at Wenela

On Monday last week, I escorted my son to Wenela Bus Depot. He was leaving for school in Lilongwe. He was dragging his suitcase and I carried a bag for him. When we approached the depot, we were barred by over 10 minibus touters—pulling our bags and each pushing us to where their minibuses were. In the process, one minibus touter hit my son.
