The wisdom of the cross

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is significant to mankind since it gave us the privilege to live the life which God has intended for everyone who believes in Christ.
Jesus died on the cross to redeem us from the eternal punishment of sin. Much more, Christ died to give us the life of God which is now available to anyone who believes in him.
Remarkably, when Jesus died on the cross, we also died with him so that his life should manifest in us. In Galatians 2 v 20, the bible reveals this. It says; I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.
Christianity is a life which originates from the cross. This life becomes meaningful when you understand why Jesus suffered and died for you.
God wants you to identify yourself with the death of Jesus Christ. This is the only way the life of Christ can manifest in you in its fullness. Everything which was destroyed when Jesus died on the cross is no longer a factor when you conform yourself to the death of Jesus Christ. Whether its poverty, sicknesses, failure or pain, all these lose their effect on you when you simply align yourself to the death and resurrection of our Lord.
In 2 Corinthians 5 v 21, the bible gives us another reason why Jesus was crucified for us. It reads; For he made him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
This verse demonstrates the wisdom of God in allowing Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross. Christ was made sin for us so that we should be righteous and blameless before God. The death of Jesus brought a new status for us and this is the life you are now supposed to live. This is why by virtue of what Jesus accomplished on the cross, sin is not supposed to trouble you anymore.
In 2 Corinthians 5 v 15, the word of God also speaks about our new life in Christ. It says; And that he died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves but for him who died and rose again.
The word of God shows us here that when Jesus died for us, we lost ownership of our lives. This implies that it’s now Christ who is supposed to manifest fully in our lives and not ourselves. However, this only becomes a reality when you receive Christ as your Lord and savior.
Make a decision today to accept Jesus as your Lord and savior and you will experience the amazing life which God has already prepared for you.
