Ntchisi man gets 4 years for housebreaking

Ntchisi First Grade Magistrate’s Court last week sentenced 19-year-old Malaki Maseko of Sambo Village in the area of Traditional Authority Sambo in the district to four years imprisonment with hard labour for breaking into a building and committing a felony therein.

Ntchisi Police spokesperson Gladson M’bumpha said on the night of January 2 this year, the convict broke into Maxwell Amiyele’s shop and stole K28 000 and some property.

M’bumpha said on the night of the incident, Amiyele closed his shop at 8pm and left for his home to take supper.

But due to heavy rains that fell during that night, Amiyele failed to return to his shop where he usually slept for security reasons.—Ayamba Kandodo, Correspondent
