Sweet revenge for Lilongwe Spikers

Defending champions of the Wilson & Johnson Central Region Volleyball League (CRVL), Lilongwe Spikers, Saturday afternoon beat rivals Blue Eagles 3-2 in a revenge mission at Lilongwe Community Centre ground court.

Spikers are currently defending the Presidential and the CRVL cups.

Inspired by their captain, Luka Kamvazina, and Frank Makowa, Spikers were a marvel to watch throughout the game. They led in all quarters against Eagles.

Speaking on behalf of the captain of the team, Makowa said it was a revenge and they want to maintain the top spot to keep their dreams of defending the trophy alive.

Spikers now have 12 points from four games and they are back on top of the table whereas Eagles are second with nine points.

In another game played on the same day, Kami beat Malili 3-0 in the Youth League.

The league goes into week Five this weekend. Eagles will need to tread carefully as they meet unpredictable Kamuzu Barracks. In the ladies league, Blue Eagles have a tough assignment against Kamuzu Barracks. Games of the week in the youth league will be between Kami and Blue Eagles Youth while Kamuzu Barracks will face Lingadzi Youth.
