Nine graduating students at Jesus Way School of Evangelism in Chikhwawa on Saturday were advised to go out and demonstrate what they had learnt from the school.

“Wherever you go and work, remember that you are the torch-bearers and ambassadors of Jesus Way School of Evangelism,” said Pastor Bernadette Mapira, who was guest of honour at the event.

The graduating students  studied biblical foundation, personal evangelism, personal discipleship, open air evangelism, pastor training, movement for Church growth, church planting strategies, Muslim evangelism, lay training evangelism and mobilisation, project evaluation for church growth, proclamation establishment of department of evangelism, strategy for church growth and free computer lessons and communication. This was a nine-month programme.

Director of the school bishop Hussein Nguwo said the institution focuses on training church leaders for aggressive evangelism to equip the church with strategy for evangelism discipleship and church planting.

“The school is interdenominational, giving lessons without fear or favour. We train church leaders, evangelists, pastors, church coordinators, youth ministry leaders, church administrators, elders, deacons and any interested person.

“Our aim is to promote evangelism in Malawi and neighbouring countries. The school is running in 10 countries. After the nine-month training we send them back to their denominations. We also conduct monthly leadership seminar,” said bishop Nguwo.

Churches from where the students came were given projects for the students to be doing while serving in their various churches as part of their practicals.
