Listen to this article

PP_supportersThe Youth Initiative in Development (Yide) said there is need to change the mindset of the youth if they are to be empowered instead of giving them handouts.

Speaking at one of their meetings in Mzuzu recently, Yide executive director Adjai Martin Mfune said the organisation wants to train the youth to be self-reliant. “We want to train the youth to be self-reliant and development-minded.

Many youths involve themselves in risky behaviour because they have nothing to do, but if we change their mindset and give them a little something to do they will be able to contribute to the development of our country,” said Mfune.
