Super League of Malawi (Sulom) on Sunday said over 20 players switched clubs during the transfer window that closed on Friday.

Among the big-name transfers are Escom United first-choice goalkeeper Charles Swini who has moved to Silver Strikers and Civo United marksman Welani Nyirenda who is set to start a new lease of life at Big Bullets.

However, Sulom general secretary Williams Banda said Escom and Silver were expected to agree Swini’s transfer terms at the weekend.

“Welani has moved to BB on a swap deal with Wyson Nkhana,” said Banda.

Conspicuously missing from the list of transfers are Mighty Wanderers goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa and Silver Strikers diminutive forward Tony Chitsulo. Chipuwa was linked with a move to Silver while Chitsulo was tipped to join Nomads.

“The two players are not among the players that have switched clubs during the transfer window. So, they still belong to their respective clubs,” said Banda.

Blue Eagles striker Chikondi Mpulula has also moved to Azam Tigers and he is set to swap with Charles Ngosi who was on loan at Blue Eagles.

Bullets have also signed Blantyre United exciting winger Dalitso Sailesi.

Banda also confirmed that Mighty Wanderers have signed Mike Kaziputa, Chimwemwe Chitedze and Mapopa Musukwa from Azam Tigers.

“Kaziputa has been signed on loan up to the end of the season whereas Chitedze and Musukwa have been bought at an undisclosed fee,” said Banda.

The Nomads have also taken on board their former goaltender Kingsley Manda who was recently offloaded by Bullets.

Benjamin Issa, Steve Unyolo, Takondwa Issa and Lemani Nthala from Epac FC have moved to Kamuzu Barracks.

Moyale Barracks have signed Bullets ‘keeper McDonald Harawa whereas Bvumbwe Research have signed Lawrence Phiri from Escom United.
