A 22-year-old man presumed dead by his relatives at the age of six has been found alive after spending 16 years in Mozambique.

The man identified as Alinafe Chimwala of Nsolo Village in the area of Senior Chief  Kachindamoto in Dedza is said to have been pronounced dead at Sharpe Valley Health centre  in Ntcheu at the age of six where he was taken for treatment by his uncle after he fell sick.

Confirming the development, Dedza Deputy police publicist Constable Cassim Manda said it has been revealed that Chimwala was “abducted through magic” to Mozambique by an impotent physician named Maulidi who later adopted the child.

“When he was about to die, Maulidi narrated the whole story to Chimwala who he named Anthonia.  After his Mozambican ‘parents’ died, Chimwala started tracing his roots and sought help from Mtakataka Police Unit which is close to his home village,” Manda explained.

Manda said Chimwala has since been reunited with his relatives who have identified and accepted him.

  1. Is there any proof that there was a funeral of the kid when he was six? Is there a DNA linkage of the 22 year old to this family.

Don’t just perpetuate stupid myths; look for simple logical explanations for what has happened. People are killing innocent old folks every day because of these archaic beliefs in witchcraft! Mxii!!

  2. DNA or no DNA test, according to Majiji Dalisoul a Zambian Musicians: “you can’t turn zero upside down to become a different number. No matter the position you will put it, it will remain zero.” It is not difficult for the real parent to remember a six year old child after sixteen years. He is their kid. But my question goes to Mr Thindwa. What do you take of this scenario? Do you still believe that witchcraft does not exist? Why can you use this Kachindamoto case to prove your claim to the nation? Paste-and-copy knowledge is not knowledge at. Your claim only shows the depth of ignorance you have on the subject. Mr Thindwa we need your response to Kachindamoto.
