23-year-old man murdered in Mchinji
Police in Mchinji are looking for people who killed 23-year-old Gabriel Mwase Mbili on Thursday last week.
Mchinji Police Station spokesperson Kaitano Lubrino said the deceased was found lying dead near Bua River on January 12 2017.
He said the deceased, who until his death was living with Borniface Mzengo, 39, of Kamowatimwa Village in Traditional Authority Nsamala in Balaka, was found with some visible wounds.

Lubrino said Mzengo adopted the deceased in 2006 and had been living with him until on January 10 2017 when the deceased was reported missing.
“Later on Thursday January 12 2017 the deceased’s body was found lying unidentified and was taken to Mchinji District Hospital mortuary where he was later identified by Mzengo.
“Postmortem conducted on January 13 2017 revealed that the cause of death was severe internal hemorrhage secondary to an assault,” said Lubrino.
He said investigations are in progress to trace and arrest the culprits.
The police are also appealing to the public to provide any information leading to the arrest of the culprits. n
