Three body builders— Emanuel Muhuwa, Frazer Zeka and Doreen Kumbatila—will represent Malawi at the Gentle Giant Africa bodybuilding competition at Sunward Park in South Africa scheduled for tomorrow and Sunday.
Muhuwa— the reigning Mr Malawi—and Zeka will compete in the body-building event while Kumbatila will contest in Miss Fitness. The three body-builders train at Ulaya Classic.
“It is nice that we have representatives from Malawi at the Gentle Giants Africa Bodybuilding Competition in South Africa. All the best and we are proud of you,” Ulaya Classic owner, Charles Ulaya, said.
The organisers of the competition have dangled R1 million, (K60 million) for prizes.
Last year Muhuwa represented Malawi at the competition— scooping seventh position of the 40 participants— just outside the qualifying top six in the senior men Under-80 kilogrammes (kg) category.
“I did not do well in the previous participation because I did not have enough training period. I got the invitation late but still more, there are positives drawn from the contest,” he said.
“What is more important is that I am now aware of the steps that I should take to shoot to the prize-winning bracket.”
