Three people died in a road accident on Christmas Day when a minibus they were travelling in swerved and overturned three times near Mutuwambudzi in Chiradzulu.

Limbe Police deputy spokesperson Pedzisai Zembeneko said the accident happened between noon and 2 pm when the minibus, registration KU 4639, was coming from Limbe going to Mulanje along the Robert Mugabe Highway.

He said at least 20 people have been admitted to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre and St. Joseph’s Mission Hospital in Nguludi where they are receiving medical attention. Zembeneko said police did not have a lot of details on Tuesday.
