4 die in road accident

Four people have died in Chiradzulu at Chisombezi Bridge along Robert Mugabe Highway after a bus they were travelling on rolled over three times after one of its tyre burst.

An eyewitness, Patrick Sam, who was at the scene of the accident and helped to pull out the victims, said the accident happened around 7pm on Tuesday.

“It seems the bus was coming from Mulanje going to Limbe. There were about 15 passengers in the bus, four died on the spot; nine were severely injured whilst two escaped with minor injuries,” Sam said.

The four are said to have been taken to Nguludi Hospital  in Chiradzulu whilst the rest were taken to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre.
