70-yr-old man brutally killed in Dedza

Police in Dedza are looking for four men suspected to have brutally murdered their 70-year-old grandfather on suspicion that he was practicing witchcraft.

Dedza Deputy Police Publicist Cassim Manda identified the deceased as Limion Julius of Mpango Village, Traditional Authority Kasumbu in the district.

Manda said Julius was accused of bewitching someone in the village who died at Dedza District Hospital after a short illness.

“The deceased was hit on the head with pestles and died on the spot,” said Manda.

Postmortem at Dedza District Hospital revealed that Julius died due to severe head injuries.

In December last year, a 40-year-old man was murdered in the district on suspicion of practicing witchcraft, but police are yet arrest the suspects.
