We all want a soft, hair-free, and unblemished skin.  Having a hair-free body is so essential for many women, hence the demand for hair removing treatments.  The unwanted hair often appears on the upper lip, chin, and sides of the face.

The reasons why some women get facial hair varies.  If your grandmother or your mother have a mustache, you are likely to experience the same problem.  Sometimes it is due to menopause which comes with hormonal changes that take place inside your body.

Although there are many options available to get rid of these unwanted hair, most of them are temporary.  Some treatments work better than others, while some can be costly and painful.

You may want to try some of the following options to correct this problem.

Waxing is one of the most popular effective method of removing unwanted facial hair.  Warm wax is applied to the hair and pulled off once it cools.  This treatment can be done in a salon or at home, and though painful, can last for weeks.

Tweezing and threading is quick and less painful and good for those with a few stray hairs and eyebrow shaping, and can be done once a week.

Depilatory creams or hair removing creams dissolve the hair at the base of the follicle.  These are ideal for widespread areas like legs, however, can cause problems when used on the face because they irritate the skin.  These are applied on the skin and left for approximately five minutes and wiped off.  This will last for one to two weeks.

Electrolysis is painful, expensive, and the most tedious since only one hair is removed at a time using a sliding needle into the skin and can only be done by a professional.  Although this procedure is supposed to be permanent, some hairs do grow back.  However, it is not available in our country.

Laser hair removal is the newest, most expensive method to remove hair. The laser is drawn to the pigment of the hair and destroyed.  This, just like electrolysis, can only be done by a professional and also not available in our country.

You don’t have to live with facial hair; with all these options, find the best way to get rid of unwanted hair that will work for you, and your lifestyle!
