The Athletics Association of Malawi (AAM) has shifted its annual general meeting to September 29 when, among other things, they will elect new office bearers.

The AGM, which will take place at Malawi Institute of Tourism, was initially scheduled for next weekend.

AAM vice-general secretary Mzee Makawa said in an interview on Tuesday that the AGM has been shifted because the accounts were delayed.

“We wanted to give finance people enough time to prepare the accounts for the AGM, but we also had a problem with the venue as the proposed ones were booked for other activities,” said Makawa.

He said those willing to contest should make submissions by September 15 whereas deadline for clubs affiliation registration is September 1.

Positions up for grabs are for president, vice-president, general secretary and deputy, treasurer and three regional chairpersons.

Currently, the AAM is headed by Dr. Richard Nyirongo.
