Abramo Queens have warned DD Sunshine Senior to brace up for tough time when the two teams meet on Saturday at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.

The teams clash in a symbolic game as Central Region Women Football League (CRWFL) awards achievers in the Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika-sponsored league.

Abramo Queens coach Nyadani Billie said his charges are determined to end DD Sunshine’s supremacy.

“The game has come at the right time as we are preparing for Presidential games. This is a chance for us to try our new players. They [DD Sunshine] have been beating us before, now, it is our time to turn around the tables,” said Billie.

DD Sunshine Senior player Linda Kasenda played down Queens’ threats, saying the game will be judged after the last whistle.

The ceremony will award DD Sunshine Senior, DD Sunshine Youth and Abramo Queens who finished the league first, second and third respectively.

DD Sunshine Senior emerged the champions on 42 points, their youth side finished with 36 points whereas Queens finished with 30 points.

The champions will get K300 000 (about $1 200) and a trophy while second and third-placed will pocket K150 000 (about $600) and K80 000 (about $320) respectively.

Kasenda, who clinched the Golden Boot Award with 99 goals will receive K10 000 ($40).
