Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials and others last week marched from Zomba Central Business District to Zomba Central Prison to raise awareness on the dangers of corruption.

In an interview, ACB chief legal and prosecution officer for the Eastern Region, Anafi Likwanya, spoke against pardoning people who were arrested for being involved in corruption.

“Let the corruption convicts complete their sentences in full as this will instill fear in people not to commit any form of corruption,” he said.

During the function, ACB donated 30 cartons of washing soap to Zomba Central Prison to help the inmates in curbing the spread of Covid-19.

Speaking after receiving the soap, Zomba Central Prison officer in-charge Thomson Ntute thanked ACB for the donation.

He said despite being in jail, the officers engaged the inmates in various forums on the dangers of corruption.

“The prisons are committed to the reformation of inmates into better citizens,” he said.
