The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested private practice lawyer Joseph Kamkwasi on allegations he defrauded a client of compensation money in circumstances where corruption was suspected.

In a statement, ACB senior public relations officer Egrita Ndala said they received a complaint alleging that a police officer, a Saliwa, and Kamkwasi had defrauded a client.

She said Kamkwasi was taken to the Blantyre Magistrate’s Court on Friday where he was charged with one count of theft by agents and that the court granted him bail.

In another development, ACB said it arrested a police officer, Ernest Saulosi, on allegations that he solicited K50 000 bribe from Stella Kuliramboni to release her husband on police bail.
