ACB nets two govt employees

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two civil servants in the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Welfare for allegedly preparing various payments to companies that never offered government any services. In a press statement on Monday, ACB senior public relations officer Egritta Ndala said the two, Martin Kamuyambeni, an assistant accountant, and Gladys Mmangisa, a senior accounts assistant in the ministry, were arrested on Monday. The two are suspected to have prepared various payments between April and August 2011 to Green Rose General Suppliers and RA, and AJ Inter Trading. —GEORGE SINGINI, Staff Reporter
