Chiumia: I have excelled in life

Sports Minister Grace Chiumia has urged youths to adopt famous and successful names, as she did with the name of US President Barack Obama, if they are to succeed in life.
The minister said this last weekend during prize presentation of the inaugural Banja La Mtsogolo National Lawn Tennis Championships at Country Club Limbe (CCL) in Blantyre.

Chiumia claimed that once she adopted the name of Obama, she has excelled in life just like the US President.
“Obama became the first black American to lead the US and I have become the first woman to be appointed Minister of Sports. Obama won the second tenure of office as US President and I won the second term of office as Member of Parliament for Nkhata Bay North,” she said.
“Therefore, if you adopt names of famous tennis players such as Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal, you will succeed in this particular sport discipline just like them. Try it!” said Chiumia.
Nevertheless, Lawn Tennis Association of Malawi (Ltam) president Francis Mwansa said hard work and determination are as important for one to succeed in life. n
