AfDB mission jets in today
A delegation of nine executive directors and members of the African Development Bank (AfDB) board has arrived today for week-long consultations with the Malawi Government.
The visit coincides with that of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) scheduled for March 9.
In a press statement signed by AfDB resident representative, Andrew Mwaba, the delegation, which will be in the country up to March 11, will engage government and other stakeholders on the country’s development agenda, challenges and the role the bank and other development partners are playing to support the efforts the country is making to achieve growth and reduce poverty.
According to Mwaba, the directors are expected to meet, among others, Minister of Finance Goodall Gondwe and other Cabinet ministers, the private sector and civil society organisations (CSOs).
