Wannabes of the first ever Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards have won another chance to nominate themselves after organisers shifted the deadlines to later this month.

Entries for the awards, created to recognise and celebrate African film and TV talent, were due last month. However, M-Net Africa has extended the time limit to permit more entrants ahead of the red-carpet gala on March 9 next year.

According to a press statement from M-Net, the awards are on track to deliver a night of spectacular entertainment to be screened live on DStv to 48 countries on the continent.

“In order to ensure that all entrants have enough time to process their entries, AfricaMagic has extended the entry deadline. The new cut-off date for submissions is Friday, November 9 2012,” reads the statement

Entry is free and detailed procedure is available at www.africamagic.tv .

AfricaMagic has also announced that it will accept awards entries at the Discop film and TV market being held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.

“Our primary method of accepting entries is through post or courier. However we know Discop is a highlight on the African film and TV calendar and is a popular meeting place for the industry. Just make sure you enter – do it for yourself, for your fans, for your moment in the spotlight,” says M-Net Africa managing director Biola Alabi

In this vein, lead judge Femi Odugbemi is quoted as urging qualified individuals to hurry up and put in their entry, saying: “This is an opportunity you would not want to miss.”
