It is no secret that Malawians have some of the most beautiful skin tones around, but matching a foundation to those varied shades of brown, is not always the easiest task.

This has been a concern for US based Malawian Omega Nankhuni. She took her time to produce cosmetics suitable for Malawian skins and she has done it.

Coming under the label OC cosmetics, Nankhuni has produced several cosmetics from African raw materials for various purposes and says her products have the potential to keep any Malawian skin natural and fresh.

In an interview, activation manager Samuel Chiwaka, who also runs the Free Mantle Management Company, said the products have been designed for Malawian skins and have undergone several tests.

“Nankhuni has been thinking about skins of Malawian people and the best cosmetics for them after observing that the cosmetic market is thronged by fake and unsuitable make-up,” said Chiwaka.

OC Cosmetics will be operating in Blantyre and Lilongwe and its activities will be marked with an official launch event at Ryalls Hotel in Blantyre Sunday. Patrons will be introduced to the products with some lectures and group discussions on how the products work and why they are best for Malawian people.

According to Chiwaka, the launch event will start in the afternoon and doors will be open for anyone at 5pm. During the launch, customers will buy the products at lower prices.
