When one has performed well in a company or school, it is always encouraging to see when parents or management recognise the good work.

When one has worked for a company for a long time, it shows that they were dedicated to their job and, surely, they might have been enjoying the work despite that every job has its own challenges.

Auction Holdings Limited (AHL) group of companies proved that hard working and persevering employees have their names curved in the heart of the company.

The company recently not only hosted a party at Golden Peacock Hotel in Lilongwe for 27 employees who have worked for at least 30 years but also awarded them various household items as a token of appreciation.

AHL group chief executive officer Evans Matabwa said to the remaining employees: “Stick around because there is more to come.”

He thanked the outgoing employees for being dedicated to their work and gave out air tickets to nine of them to go to South Africa.

The awardees were classified into three categories according to their employment grades with three longest-serving awarded with LED flat TVs, five with 210- litre deep freezer while 19 got bicycles each.

Among the nine expected to fly to South Africa was Everson Zinyemba, who expressed gratitude and shared his 42-year work experience with AHL’s remaining employees.
