The Salima-based Malawi Defence Force (MDF) outfit beat Lake Valley 2-0 at the weekend.

Mafco coach Sterio Gondwe is hoping to return to the TNM Super League after getting relegated in 2018

Rangers have also been awarded three points of their game against Ngolowindo FC played on June 2 which they lost 1-0, after the latter were found guilty of featuring an unregistered player, according to CRFA vice-general Antonio Manda.

Leaders Mafco, another MDF outfit who beat Mtsiriza United 2-1 on Saturday through second-half goals from Zikani Sichinga and Joseph Donsa, have 32 points while Airborne are second with 28 points from 14 games.

“Ngolowindo used an unregistered player in the name of Chipiliro Nazombe instead of Ranel Fosi, whose name appears on the card, they replaced the face on the card.

“Let me warn teams that they must adhere to league laws and only legitimate players should be used in all league games,” he said.

In other games, Silver Strikers Reserves have ascended to position three following a successful weekend.

They beat Dedza Young Soccer 2-0 on Saturday while on Sunday they beat Ngolowindo 1-0 to accumulate 28 points from 14 games.

They are disadvantaged on goal difference with Rangers.

Dedza Dynamos have moved to position four with 25 points, after they came from behind to beat Mitundu Strikers 3-1 with goals from Steve Kaponda, Kondwani Kathumba and Peter Facao Chuma.

Former Be Forward striker, Jafali Chande, who is the top scorer, scored the only goal for Strikers to take his tally to 11.

Dynamos team manager Masauko Kalamula discribed the victory as a turning point after they lost two consecutive games.

The bottom team, Jidi FC,  registered their first league wins from 13 games.

They stunned Luanar FC and Obings Pirates 3-1 and 1-0 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. They are still at the bottom of the table with nine points.
