Malawi’s Airtel Ambassador: Piksy

Mobile network operator Airtel Malawi looks set to keep championing the showbiz industry on the domestic scene and beyond with news hot on the heels that the firm has jumped on the 2Face concert with its SMS trivia and mobile money product, Airtel Money.

Coincidentally, 2Face is Airtel’s brand ambassador at his backyard in Nigeria.

Breaking the news to The Nation, brands and communications manager for Airtel Isabel Kachinjika said as a brand, Airtel strives to cater for the masses.

“This is a high-billed show, and apart from supporting our network’s brand ambassador in Nigeria, we thought of extending the love and fun to our subscribers locally,” she said.

Among other things, Airtel subscribers stand a chance to get VIP treatment during the show plus dinner with 2Face at Sunbird Mount Soche in Blantyre on the eve of the show.

“All people have to do is send an SMS written ‘2Face’ to 5770. Unlike other promotions, this one will automatically accommodate 10 people that register the highest entries,” explained Kachinjika, adding that each SMS costs K50.

Airtel is the headline sponsor for this year’s edition of Big Brother Africa dubbedThe Chase on the continental scene and locally the network is bankrolling the upcoming Urban Music Party (UMP) and just a week ago, Airtel also oiled the University of Malawi family’s inter-socials
in addition to having Piksy as its domestic brand ambassador among
others.
