“We urge our district committees not to entertain any latecomer because they will jeopardise our tight schedule for the competition. As the qualifiers at district level begin this Saturday morning, committees should have ample time to conduct draws and have fixtures ready,” she said.

Registration fees is K2 000.

Meanwhile, Blantyre District Netball Committee (BDNC) general secretary Annie Hanjahanja-Billie has asked all interested teams within the district to register at their Blantyre Youth Centre (BYC) offices.

The 2016 event is the last edition of the Airtel Money-sponsored contest. Airtel Money launched a three-year K360 million netball sponsorship in October 2013, with an annual sum of K70 million channelled to the competition. K25.7 million is used for Malawi Queens’ engagements each year.

Tigresses are the defending national champions. They won the first two editions. n
