However, during the presentation of the cheque to the national team at the Blantyre Youth Centre (BYC), Airtel Malawi head of enterprise business Rachel Mijiga expressed hope that the Queens will improve.

Since the company came up with a historical K360 million ($720 000) three-year netball sponsorship through Airtel Money last year, the Queens, who are still number one in Africa, have not won a trophy.

The presentation of the K7million support occurred before a final squad of 12-players was announced. The following is the squad: defenders: Mtukule-Ngwira, ToweraVinkhumbo-Nyirenda, Grace Mwafulirwa-Mhango and LaureenNgwira; centre-court players: Martha Dambo, Bridget Kumwenda, TakondwaLwazi and ThandiGaleta; shooters: MwawiKumwenda, SindiSimtowe, Joyce Mvula and Jane Chimaliro.
