Ali Kaka pleads not guilty
Businessperson and losing contestant in the Blantyre City South Constituency 2014 parliamentary race Ali Saidi Chinemba yesterday pleaded not guilty to a murder charge he is answering at the High Court in Blantyre.
Judiciary spokesperson Mlenga Mvula said Chinemba, popularly known as Ali Kaka, appeared before High Court judge Dorothy Nyakaunda-Kamanga where both parties—the State and the defence—presented their submissions regarding the case.
Chinemba, 35, is answering murder charges following an allegation that on August 4 2014 he shot to death 20-year-old Dave Kadzuwa who used to live in Chilomoni Township, but originally came from Chamtulo Village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Nankumba in Mangochi.
Following the incident, Chinamba handed himself over to police. He is currently on bail.
