All set for Katika finals

After more than four months of excitement the curtain finally comes down in the K1 million ($4 000) Justice Katika Trophy in Bangwe this afternoon with the finals at the Desert ground.

Mthandizi All stars face Ntopwa United in the battle for the cup and a K200 000 (about $800) ultimate prize money.

All Stars defeated Ntopwa One while United beat Mbuzi Swallows in the semi-finals.

According to the chairperson of the Bangwe Community Sports Development Committee Basiyano Bauleni all is set for the big finale.

“It has been a fantastic tournament and the two teams have promised to give us an entertaining final match. We urge all soccer fans in Bangwe and surrounding areas to come and be part of the fun,” said Bauleni.

Sponsor Katika also said he is impressed with the how the league has been run.

” he organising committee did a very good job and the league run smoothly I am very impressed and people should expect good news on the way forward at the finals,” he said.

Among other activities lined-up are a parade of the trophy around Bangwe Township and music show by some renowned artists.

Flames coach Kinnah Phiri who graced the launch is also expected to be in attendance.
