The Alexander Forbes Match Play competition, which has run from early July, comes to a climax on Saturday, October 6 2012 at Lilongwe Golf Club.

The event, which was played in two categories, has seen veteran golfer Shaun Raman and Mphatso Chadzala reach the singles final whereas the doubles category has Jeremiah Magaba and William Matambo versus Damo Rajan and Pravin Vansia.

Those that fell along the way will play in the individual stableford format.

Marsh Malawi (formally Alexander Forbes) chief accountant Hudson Kantwanje said all was set and that besides golfers enjoying a round of golf, his organisation has decided to use the same platform to officially launch Marsh Malawi Limited. “We are going to have prize presentation and a cocktail where we intend to announce to both our existing and prospective clients our new name. It is a full day filled with lots of fun.”

“The patronage and the excitement over the past two months regarding the match play has been enormous and concluding this event with us rebranding is completely awesome. We wish those in the finals the very best and all we can say is, may the best golfers win,” said Kantwanje.

Marsh, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies (NYSE: MMC), has acquired the brokerage business of Alexander Forbes (AF) in most African countries, including Malawi.

This development has given Marsh a leading market position and a strong presence in some of the most vibrant economies in the sub-Saharan region.
