“We have so far produced statutes pertaining to operations of the district associations and elections. Our focus is that having done with the elections, the district associations should have powers to implement programmes at that lower level,” NRYFA chairperson Mwawi Mwanza said.

He said only district youth football committee members will be allowed to vote and for one to vie for any position, they must be nominated by at least one of the district youth football committee members such as teams.

The positions at the elections include chairperson, vice-chairperson, general secretary, vice-general secretary, treasurer and five executive committee members.

One of the aspiring candidates, Edson Musopole, who is vying for Mzuzu City Youth Football Association general secretary post, said he wants to promote football from grass roots.
