Another 50% bonus hike for BB players

Big Bullets FC have set the hype for Sunday’s crucial TNM Super League showdown against Silver Strikers by promising their players a 50 percent bonus hike if they win.

The players got a similar hike when they trounced their fierce rivals Mighty Wanderers 3-0 recently.

Bullets general secretary Higger Mkandawire said the move is aimed at motivating the players in the quest to win the league title.

“Just like we did ahead of the game against Wanderers, we have promised our players a 50 percent hike should they win Sunday’s game, which is a crucial one in our bid to win the title,” said Mkandawire.

The players’ normal game bonus is K10 000 (about $30) each for a win.

Team captain Fischer Kondowe said they are determined to play out of their skins to bag full points.

“This is a crucial game for us which we must win at all cost and we are prepared to give out something extra,” said Kondowe.

However, Silver chairperson Dr. McDonald Mafuta-Mwale claimed that Bullets’ move is a clear indication that they are afraid of his team.

“We do not offer our players extra bonuses because they already get good allowances and we would not want to put them under any unnecessary pressure. We are certainly not moved by that,” said Mafuta-Mwale.

Bullets are on third position with 42 points from 22 games while Silver are second with 43 points from 20 games. Blantyre United, who have played three games more than the Bankers, top the chart with 45 points.
