APM congratulates Malawi journalists for winning Sadc awards
President Peter Mutharika has congratulated journalists Winstone Mwale of Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) and Bonnex Julius of The Daily Times newspaper on scooping awards during the 2015 Southern Africa Development Community (Sadc) Media Awards.
The awards were given earlier today by the Sadc chairperson president of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe during the opening of the Heads of State and Government Sadc summit in Gaborone, Botswana.
Mwale scooped an award in the radio category with his entry on cultural unity that the annual Kulamba Chewa ceremony brings on the people of Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique whereas Julius won an award in the photography category with an entry depicting the railway line connecting Malawi and Mozambique that, when complete, will economically benefit the two countries.
