Arthur Peter Mutharika
President of the Republic of Malawi, I would realise it is time I dug deep into my heart and accept the harsh reality that my government is terribly losing its plot in as far as issues related to governance are concerned.
If I were the big shot that is APM, I would appreciate that the mass industrial actions in the public sector coupled with the continued high cost of living is clear testimony that things are not well.
How I wish I were my good professor, because I would realise that those that surround me cannot have the courage to tell me negative things because all they want me to hear are positive to suit their personal interests at the expense of the common person out there in the villages. Indeed, they would want to protect their ‘mipando yonona’.
If only I were the President, I would demonstrate that I am in control by coming out of my shell and telling the nation what plans I have to sort out the problems that have rocked the country.
I would appreciate, if I were you Mr. President, that the situation is slowly spilling out of control and the sooner I come out to address Malawians, the better.
That is if only I were His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika. Unfortunately, I happen not to be that big dude.
