Atusaye Nyondo, once a South Africa Premier Soccer League (PSL) Golden Boot Award contender, has now to be content shunting between SuperSport United’s main team and the reserve league side.

Nyondo, who three weeks ago scored the winner in SuperSport’s 2-1 victory over Ajax Cape Town, has been missing in the main team, but played for the reserve side on Monday afternoon at Robertsham Soccer Grounds.

The Flames striker could not last 90 minutes as he paved the way for Solomzi ‘Balac’ Ndlovu to finish the game alongside Senegalese Niang Mame upfront in SuperSport Reserves’ 1-0 win against Jomo Cosmos Reserves.

“The two sides were tight and went into the interval without a goal. Visitors SuperSport broke the ice towards the end of the match from the boot of talented midfielder Cebo Meyiwa,” reads www.supersportfc.co.za.

“The victory saw Matsatsantsa soaring high above the pack with 43 points in the bag. Meanwhile, SuperSport will play their next Reserve League match against Kaizer Chiefs at home (Groenkloof Campus) next Monday.”

Nyondo started the season on a high with seven goals in as many games. Another Flames striker Chiukepo Nyondo hardly plays at Platinum Stars just like Moses Chavula of Amazulu, Dave Banda at Black Leopards and Santos’ duo of Peter Mponda and Tawonga Chimodzi.
