African Union (AU) are winners of the TNM Kumbali 5-A-Side tournament involving diplomatic missions in the country.

The three-week bonanza, which took place at Kumbali Country Lodge in Lilongwe, was sponsored by TNM to the tune of K2.3 million.

The bonanza, which was played in league format, had missions UN, AU, USA, Italy and Lebanon taking part.

AU won three of their four league games and lost one to amass nine points.

UN finished second, winning two, losing one and drawing one to collect seven points. USA finished third, winning one, drawing twice and losing once to collect five points. Lebanon finished fourth after winning once, drawing twice and losing once while Italy anchored the table.

TNM said the bonanza sponsorship was an appreciation of their customers’ support.

“We are sponsoring this tournament as an appreciation to this group of our customers and also provide a platform to the diplomats to interact with the TNM brand,” said TNM’s public relations officer Limbani Nsapato. n
