“I started publishing in 2006, and I have so far published Leleni, Kalinga, Crew and Khwiya which is being made into a movie. All these books are under the Werengani Series of the National Library Services, as such they have been used in libraries and primary schools,” said Chapinga in an interview.

He added: “Moyondi Ineyo is the first ever book for people in general to be published by me with the help of Chancellor College Publications. It should be out by September this year. It will be a collection of a series of 20 fiction stories and 10 poems closely linked to some stories in the book.”

Khwiya is a story of locusts that descended on a village. After attempts by villagers to deal with the plague, only one remained.

Shooting is underway and should be done by March,” said Chapinga.
