The Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) last Sunday donated a motorcycle ambulance to Muslims in Balaka.

MAM chairperson Sheikh Idrissah Muhammad advised the recipients to use the ambulance to help the sick in the district.

He said the association received the motorcycle from a well-wisher who was touched by problems people were facing to take patients to the district hospital.

“It is the wish of MAM to see to it that the facility is benefiting all Muslims in the district. We know that there are many of you, but try to ensure that everybody benefits,” said Muhammad.

Balaka MAM district chairperson Sheikh Muhammad Fahad thanked the association for the donation.

He said the motorcycle will play a crucial role in improving access to healthcare among rural-based Muslims.

“We have been facing serious problems to access treatment due to lack of transport. The motorcycle ambulance will deal with some of these problems,” said Fahad.
