Bankers Association of Malawi (BAM) has said all is set for the Eighth Annual Bankers’ Dinner and Dance which is slated this Friday, September 2 2016 at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre.
BAM chief executive officer Lyness Nkungula said in an interview on Friday most of the preparations for the dinner have been finalised and was looking forward to a successful gala night.
She said: “This is the perfect time to show employees how much they are appreciated and the bankers’ dinner just explains that. It can be difficult for employees to bond in a working environment, hence, removing professional constraints from interactions helps people get to know each other better.
“The beauty is that we bring the employees from all 11 member institutions together to socialise.”
The theme for this year’s bankers’ dinner is Sustainable Business Development through Affordable Financial Services.
Nkungula said the bankers will use the platform to discuss issues affecting the economy and suggest possible solutions.
Since the Institute of Bankers in Malawi is affiliated to the University of Malawi, vice Chancellor of the University of Malawi (Unima) Professor John Kalenga Saka will preside over the ceremony.
