Newly-appointed Ntopwa FC coach Caren Chaula has started with two losses to Chitipa United and Karonga United in the TNM Super League.

On Saturday, Ntopwa lost to Chitipa United 2-1 in Chaula’s first assignement as head coach before losing 3-1 to Karonga United yesterday.

The coach blamed her charges of failing to utilise chances they created and poor communication in defence which resulted in conceeding the five goals in the two games.

She said: “We need to improve on these areas.”

In other games played over the weekend, Mighty Tigers stunned Red Lions 2-0 at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.

Kondwani Chilembwe and Precious Chipungu scored for the KauKau Boys.

Tigers coach Trevor Kajawa applauded his charges for the win.

He said: “Red Lions beat us in the first round now we have avenged the loss.”

In Mzuzu, Ekwendeni Hammers narrowly beat Mzuzu Warriors 1-0 at Mzuzu Stadium.

Second-placed Nyasa Big Bullets were held by TN Stars at Kasungu Stadium.
