Excited about the launch, he said the launch symbolises the apex of his career and is looking forward to prove his mettle.

“The show, though my album launch, is also a thank-you and a celebration toward the support people have given us and the music industry,” said Barry One.

“We have not had any major local live performances compared to international acts flocking that much this year. So we are making this a celebration of us all as the Malawi music industry.”

The Wandichosa hit maker further said fans should expect nothing less than a great event.

“All the artists are prepared to nail it big for it is that one-off opportunity to impress the fans. Everyone is set to give a hot performance, so people should look forward to a great time,” said Barry One.

His manager, Kumbukani Mindiyera—who co-founded K-Dub—appealed to Malawians to grace the show for it will be “historical and memorable”.

“We have put all our energies in this show. Being the first for us, the stakes are high to prove a point and we promise to put up a show that has never been seen before,” he said.

“We expect people from all corners to come and render support to artists on this day. It is the people that made us, so let us celebrate together.”

Among the names to headline the event are Chipapapa star Tay Grin, Piksy, Theo Thompson, Martse, Fredokiss, Young Kay, Gwamba and Kelly Kay.
