Bashir to face Zambian ahead of UK title-fight

African Boxing Union (ABU) ABU super lightweight champion Anisha Bashir will on April 29 take on Zambian Mary Musole in a non-title bout at M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe.

Gunde Boxing Promotions have organised the bout.

Bashir: This fight will help me

Jack Gunde, manager of Gunde Boxing Promotions, said it is high time Malawians watched their champion on home soil.

“We have been organising a lot of bouts—both local and internationally—but this time we came up with an international bill involving women. We all know that Anisha is ABU champion and people should expect a good fight on this day,” he said.

The ABU Super lightweight champion is preparing for a title-bout set for next month in the United Kingdom.

Bashir said she is prepared for the Zambian opponent.

“This fight will help me a lot as I am preparing for a big title-fight in the United Kingdom. My fans should expect good results from me as I will be carrying the flag of the country,” she said.

Apart from the main bout, Ruth Chisale will take on Tanzanian Rehema Abdala in a six-round title bout in the main supporting bout.

Roy Yuda will take on Zimbabwean Future Maziya while Hollis Kazembe will date another Zimbabwean, Philip Musariri.

Alex Ndanga will take on Tatenda Paradza of Zimbabwe while Kudakwache Banda will exchange punches with Freeman Mabvugwe, also from Zimbabwe.
