Big Bullets FC will face TNM Super League counterparts Blantyre United and Peter Mutharika Southern Region Football League (SRFL) Premier Division runners-up Cobbe Barracks FC in friendlies at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Bullets’ newly elected supporters committee chairperson Isaac ‘Jomo’ Osman, Blantyre United administrator Lawson Nakoma and Cobbe Barracks coach Chifundo Masapula confirmed on Wednesday that agreements have been made for the encounters.

Osman said the matches have been organised to thank their supporters for voting for him and members of his faction into office, apart from being the team’s preparations for the Zambezi Soccer Challenge Tournament next week.

“It is also meant to raise funds for the teams. Moreover, it has been quite a while since our fans watched the team play at Kamuzu Stadium. We want to rejuvenate that good feeling among the fans. Everyone will pay just K200 at the gate,” he said.

Nakoma said although their main team had not been in serious training for the past few weeks, they have accepted the match to assess their newly acquired players.

“It was only our reserve side which was in serious training. However, the team’s coaching panel has assured me that the main team is strong enough to take on Big Bullets this Saturday,” said Nakoma.

On his part, Masapula said they will give their all during the encounter against Bullets on Sunday to show the local football fraternity that their missing of the TNM Super League promotion was mere bad luck.

Cobbe Barracks missed Super League promotion by a whisker due to inferior goal margin.

“We want to show that our team is a good side and that it was just unfortunate that we failed in our bid to get promoted to the top flight league,” said Masapula.
