Despite Big Bullets’ continued lead in this season’s TNM Sapota Mapeto Promotion, the team’s approach towards the 300 000 SMS hits to earn a K1.5 million bonus revenue seems to be at a snail’s pace.

During the fourth draw of the SMS campaign at TNM head office in Blantyre on Tuesday, Bullets led the 15-team TNM Super League with 31 658 hits (K1.1 million) to amass of 191 145 hits, translating to slightly over K11 million during the period.

This means the team has  averaged 47 786 hits per month and they need to attain at least 54 427 hits in each of the final two months to get the bonus.

Be Forward Wanderers come second as they have so far got 102 345 hits. In the fourth month, they collected 12 065 hits to take home a K422 275 share. Silver Strikers had 3 047 hits in October. They are third with  a total of 17 421 hits (K106 645).

“This year’s promotion will wind up at the end of this league season and if supporters want their teams to get the K1.5 million bonus, they need to pull up their socks in terms of sending text messages through Sapota Mapeto,” said TNM products manager Asante Chitimba.

During the draw on Tuesday, Wanderers’ Ndirande Township-based supporter Vitumbiko Msiska won the K200 000 grand prize for the month of October.
