BB close in on Mkandawire, Ngwira

Big Bullets FC have closed in on signing former South Africa-based defender Sankhani Mkandawire and midfielder Jacob Ngwira.

The players’ contracts with Carara Kicks expired on Saturday and there is no indication that they will return to South Africa.

Bullets chairperson Malinda Chinyama said talks are at an advanced stage with the two players who have been training with them.

“I have met them twice and the discussions have gone on well and by the end of this week we should conclude the deal,” said Chinyama.

While Ngwira could not be reached for comment, Mkandawire confirmed talking to his former club.

“They are bringing up interesting offers and I am interested to rejoin them. It is just a matter of finalising a few things, but I should be their player in a week’s time,” said Mkandawire.

He also said there is no word from Carara on their future with the club; hence, the decision to start looking for other options.

“They said they would call us, but I have heard nothing from them up to now. Actually, I heard that they have started pre-season training, which means we are no longer needed there,” he said.
