BBA’s Nic to grace Malawi’s summertime gala

Former Big Brother Africa star Nic Alexander is expected to land in Malawi this Friday ahead of the Summertime Family Gala happening at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach in Salima.

The Kenyan co-hosts M-Net Channel’s show Mashariki Mix with actor-turned-TV presenter Sarah Hassan and he will be on the shores of Lake Malawi to capture the daylong meeting of music, fashion and sports as it unfolds on Saturday.

According to MultiChoice Malawi sales and marketing manager (South) Chimwemwe Nyirenda, Nic and his crew will beam the all-encompassing summertime fiesta on the lifestyle magazine—with likely replays on Magic World, Series and Africa Magic channels.

 “It is true Nic is coming on Friday. He will come with the producer of the programme, Victor Ogala. They will fly back to Nairobi on Monday next week,” said Nyirenda in an interview.

Mashariki Mix will expose the stunning lake and participating artists to DStv viewers in about 45 countries, but Nyirenda singled out fashion designer Cathy Kamthunzi as an obvious beneficiary because the show is all about “class and glamour”. Kamthunzi, who designed for M-Net Face of Africa Model in 2010, will showcase her summer and beach collection.

The show is jointly organised by MultiChoice, Sunbird Tourism Limited and Red Spot. It also presents music performances by Black Missionaries, Dan Lu, Maskal, Armstrong and the Great Angels Choir.

Other activities include beach soccer and the beaming of an English Premier League game between Arsenal and Chelsea on a big screen.

Nic will be accompanied by BBA Amplified Felicia Susan Ngoma.
