Big Bullets’ prospect of hosting Mamelodi Sundowns next month for a friendly match in preparation for the CAF Champions League hangs in the balance as the South Africa’s giants are reportedly having other commitments.

It has transpired that Sundowns will in the second week of January be participating in an invitational tournament in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) involving TP Mazembe, Don Bosco and Zesco United of Zambia.

KickOff magazine of South Africa reported about Sundowns’ invitation on Monday, but the Pretoria club’s publicist Kabelo Mosito says he is yet to be furnished with the details of the event.

“I am still on holiday. I hope to get all the details of the tournament when we re-open in January,” Mosito told www.KickOff.com.

Bullets chairperson Kondie Msungama on Tuesday said while they had extended an invitation to Sundowns, the Pitso Mosimane-coached side are yet to confirm.

“We may go out for preparations, but we are yet to decide as this will depend on our budget. We are still engaging sponsors on the matter,” said Msungama.

Bullets are preparing for a CAF Champions League preliminary round match away in Comoros Island against Fomboni Club de Moheil whereas Sundowns have been drawn to face St. Michel from Seychelles in the first leg.

The first legs are set for 13/14/15 February, with the return duels slated for 27/28 February and 1 March.  n
