As part of the club’s social responsibility, Be Forward Wanderers has donated soccer balls to Kawale and Chisamba primary schools in Lilongwe.

The donated soccer balls are part of the 500 balls that Japanese Car dealer firm Be Forward has given Wanderers to donate to schools across the country.

The donation in Lilongwe was done by vice-general secretary Christopher Kananji on Wednesday morning.

Kananji said most schools in the country struggle to have football equipment like balls.

“As a club, we need to build a new generation of players that can take the game of football forward. We can only do that if equip our schools to have soccer balls. Talent is nurtured in schools and we need to invest in the schools,” said Kananji.

Be Forward on Tuesday also bought each of the 32 Wanderers players football boots and travelling bags.

“It is important that we repay this sponsorship by winning more honours. Already we have the Carlsberg Cup and now we need to bag the Standard Bank,” said Kananji.

Wanderers face Blue Eagles on Saturday at Civo Stadium in the Standard Bank Cup. n
